Influence of alloying copper with nickel or germanium on interlayer exchange coupling CoCu(Ge/Ni) multilayers: Fermi surface effects
Bobo J.-F., Hennet L., Piecuch M.
Journal of Magnetism and Magnetic Materials 140-144 (1995) 587

We report variations between 10.7 AÌŠ (Cu0.965Ge0.035) and 15.8 AÌŠ (Cu0.81Ni0.19) of the periodicity of oscillatory interlayer exchange coupling for (111)-oriented CuXCo multilayers. These results are correlated with the topology of the Fermi surface CuNi and CuGe alloys. They confirm that interlayer exchange coupling is due to electronic states with stationary q-vectors passing through the neck of the spacer layer Fermi surface.
