Amorphous alloys of the cobalt-tin system have been obtained by the vapor quenching technique. Bulk magnetization data have been measured up to high field condition (150 kOe). On the basis of these experimental observations, magnetism in CoxSn1-x alloys can be understood by assuming that magnetic cobalt atoms appear (for x≳0.5) in a stoichiometric nonmagnetic Co Sn matrix.
