Using a general calculation of the nuclear quadrupole interaction in non-cubic metals which was presented in a previous paper, this article gives an interpretation of experimental data dealing with signs and temperature dependence of the electric field gradient in 3d(Sc, Ti), 4d(Y, Zr, Tc, Ru) and 5d (Hf, Re, Os) transition hexagonal close-packed metals.
