Finite-Size Scaling of Quantum Phase transitions in 2d Heisenberg models
Sandro Wenzel
Institut für Theoretische Physik
Monday 17 September 2007 , 10h25
Salle de séminaire du groupe de Physique Statistique

In this seminar, I will give an introduction to the Quantum Monte Carlo technique (Stochastic Series Expansion) I am using to study Quantum Phase Transitions in low-dimensional magnets. As an application, I will specifically present my recent simulations on two-dimensional antiferromagnets with coupling anisotropies. In order to extract critical exponents I will discuss finite-size scaling of my data.
