Salle de séminaire du groupe de Physique Statistique

Among possible realizations of prospective quantum computers superconducting nanocircuits appear very promising as they can be easily scaled up and integrated in electronic circuits. We will review the proposal to use circuits based on Josephson junctions as quantum bits, elementary blocks of quantum computers, and the relevant physics behind this idea. The advantages of this realization as well as relevant problems on the way towards building full-scale quantum computers will be discussed, with a focus on maintaining quantum coherence and the quantum readout process. Current experimental achievements and prospects will be discussed.
